Redwork Embroidey on Old Fashioned Baby Clothes!

Suzette made this cute Brother/Sister set of garments from my Baby's Summer Clothes pattern.
She did the embroidery in Redwork (which really just means embroidered with red floss).

I love them!

In this picture you can see both outfits completely.  The Diaper Shirts are made from white Finewale or Babywale Pique.  The under Bubble is red gingham.

Too Cute!!

And the close up of the sleeve shows you how Suzette used a Swiss Edging that has entredeux trim to finish it.  Then she wove red floss in and out of the entredeux holes.

The boy sleeve (and collar) is trimmed with a red gingham piping.

She also made my Redwork Bubble from Best Embroidered Baby Clothes 2.
This is a garment that I made for Sew Beautiful Magazine.  See here for a post about it.

I love it when I see my garments made up!!

  1. I NEED to get this pattern... I've seen it several times and just love the gingham bubble underneath. I shall proceed to the sewing shop Monday morning... thanks for inspiring yet another project!
